Antique Wormy Chestnut Flooring

One of our personal
favorites is this reclaimed Wormy Chestnut flooring.
Wormy Chestnut flooring is milled from old barn boards and at times we
mill lumber sawn from old barn timbers.

|
Wormy Chestnut flooring is very rich in "aged character".
You will find scattered nail and spike holes in these planks along
with some original saw marks.
|
Many years of
history have given this flooring a time worn beauty that is
impossible to replicate or match.
At left is a
picture showing some of our widest planks in Wormy Chestnut.
This project used a random width from 7" - 10".

|
Wormy Chestnut flooring planks will have a mixture of light and
heavy worm hole patterns, it will have tight and some open knots as
well as aging stress checking that may be up to 1/8th inch in
width.

While our
widest plank Chestnut flooring is the most popular, the narrow plank
Chestnut flooring also has a very unique and beautiful appeal.
The planks pictured below are in a random 2.5" and 3" width and since
the narrow Chestnut is more readily available, the pricing is also
much lower.

This flooring features a much heavier reclaimed character like larger
nail holes, more aging cracks and checks, some planks with the
original surfaces still showing an may have larger worm holes and
insect scars.
