Appalachian Wide Plank

Quarter-Sawn White Oak Flooring

Another great addition to our Appalachian Plank line of wide plank flooring.

Quarter Sawn White Oak flooring makes for an exceptionally durable and beautiful plank floor.

Quarter-sawn White Oak has a long tradition of use in both furniture and in flooring.

This flooring is mostly quarter sawn, but will have some rift sawn planks in the mix.

When White Oak logs are sawn so that the grain is perpendicular to the plank faces, a unique characteristic is revealed.  Quarter sawn "ray fleck" shows up as a naturally occurring and stunning part of the grain structure.

These pictures show planks ranging from 7" - 10".

Quarter sawn White Oak flooring is also very hard and durable and is one of the most stable floors available on the market today.

In times past, quarter sawn White Oak flooring was mostly available in narrow widths.

We have an excellent source for exceptionally wide plank lumber and are now able to offer this wide plank flooring in widths ranging from 5" up to 12".

While Quartersawn White Oak was the wood of choice for fine furniture made in the Mission style, we are hopeful that you will find it equally appealing as a floor.
